Will YouTube Become More Popular Than TV?

The phenomena of sites like YouTube shows in which direction the Internet is heading nowadays. If you have watched any videos on YouTube, you know that you can see how many people viewed a particular video. You will also know that some videos are more popular than others, as they receive more traffic than other videos. Everyone can upload any type of movie on YouTube, and this is why many people do it. Ordinary people from all around the world upload videos to YouTube every day. Some of the videos uploaded by those ordinary people attract millions of viewers. The popularity of YouTube can be attributed to the fact that people enjoy watching how somebody else’s life looks like, and usually people also upload funny movies that tell a story that happened in their lives. I expect that with the growing popularity of YouTube, we will see the end of the era of TV. This end will probably not happen soon, as there are still many people who are used to watching TV. However, taking into account that YouTube offers videos which are for free, we can expect more and more people turn to YouTube when they look for some form of entertainment. Everybody has to pay for TV, but you do not have to pay for YouTube, just your Internet connection which you probably need anyway.
