Working in Windows Without a Mouse

Working in Windows has always been associated with using a mouse. Did you know that you can actually do quite a lot of things in Windows by using only your keyboard? After switching your computer on, you can initialize the Start menu by simply pressing Windows button that is usually located at the bottom left corner of your keyboard. You can also choose the program that you open without using a mouse. Just use arrow keys to move up and down, and when the program that you want to open is highlighted press Enter. Once you are in a program like Microsoft Word or PowerPoint you can hold Alt key to access the menu bar. To access file options, press Alt+F, to access Edit options, press Alt+E. This should be enough to keep you going for some time in your Word document. In newer versions of Word if you press Alt, you will see the number and letters highlighted that will enable you to access each command in this document. Some users claim that using such shortcuts saves them time, and can be a good idea for those who access particular programs often. Not mentioning whenever your mouse will be malfunctioning, you won’t be as helpless as you would be otherwise, without knowing important shortcuts. You don’t always have to use them, but you are definitely going to have satisfaction from knowing about them.
