Using Tab in Text Editors

November 25, 2008 – 11:41 am

If you work in Word documents, and if you are a blogger I am sure that you do, you probably use the Tab button from time to time. Tab button will move your cursor from left to the right (or the opposite, if you will mark it in the options) at a certain distance. You can set the distance by which your cursor will jump every time you press Tab. Generally speaking you will not need to change this setting very often, but to set the distance of your Tab button, follow these steps:
1. Go to Format in the upper menu bar. From here select option called Tabs.
2. A dialog box will pop up with many useful options. Look at it for a while. You will see in the upper right corner that the default distance is set for you. You can change it, if you wish.
3. Additionally, you can enter your own stops by inserting a number in centimeters under Tan stop position. After you enter a number press Set and then OK to finish the process.

Knowing such tricks will surely make your work with Word more pleasurable. Using tab can be very useful at some times, but remember not to overdo it.
