Standardized Battery
March 10, 2010 – 10:14 amThere are plans to produce a standardized rechargeable green cell battery, which would be compatible with many devices. The basic concept is that you could pick up and replace such a battery on the go, as you would be able to buy it from vending machines. I think that the idea is quite good, because there are many different battery types that work with various electronic devices. It would be a lot easier for a consumer to replace standard size batteries. Having said that, there are also some drawbacks when it comes to this idea. This includes the fact that manufacturers would have to agree to implement these batteries in their devices, and if they would, it could limit the possibility of different shapes and sizes of some devices. Extremely small devices would probably not benefit from this new type of batteries, as they would most certainly not fit. This is a valid concern, because there is a trend of producing smaller and smaller devices. Even if the new green cell battery was very small, there would be a problem related to devices which usually require larger batteries. That is because they would have to use a lot of green cell batteries to power them up, and that would be quite inconvenient. If you have some spare time, check these skateboards and see how you like them.
