Ball Mouse
September 17, 2010 – 10:48 amTo be productive at your computer, you need a properly working mouse. You will often see people buying mouses on a regular basis, because their old mouse stopped working properly. While I do not have any solution to the problem if your mouse is optical, there is a way to repair a sluggish ball mouse by simply cleaning it. I realize that more and more people use optical mouses; however, I am sure that there are still people out there who prefer to use their ball mouse for some reasons. Of course, I predict that in the future a lot less people will be using that type of mouse, but there are still many people today who use them. Do not be ashamed of using a ball mouse, because they are not as outdated as some people will want to make you believe. In some cases they are even better than optical mouses.
If your ball mouse is sluggish, then there are some steps you can take to clean it. First, simply disconnect your mouse from the computer, and open the ball cover from the back side of the mouse. You should then clean the dust in the inner side of the mouse, taking special care of the rollers. Doing it with a slightly damp cloth is a good idea. Clean the ball, and do not forget to dry it before putting it back. In most cases, this will fix the problem of a mouse being sluggish, and hopefully it will save you some money.
