I know many people that have a scanner, and it really helped them a lot. A scanner can be useful for making copies of all important documents, backing up notes classes, or simply scanning pictures. There are many advantages of having a scanner. First of all, you will not need to store a lot of letters, leaflets, or other materials anymore. If you received a hand written letter from somebody that you care about, you can scan this letter, and get rid of the original to save space. I am sure that a sender will not mind if you will tell him that you keep the copy of his letter as a scanned document. Prices of scanners are not that high anymore, and in many circumstances scanners can be really useful. Many businesses use them, but also many families.Overall, I think that scanners are worth the money we spend on them.

Of course, it is important to understand that any scanned documents on our computer may be lost if our hard drive gets damaged. That is why we should make sure to back up all of the documents, because computers are not very reliable and there are many ways how you might lose scanned documents.
