Quickly Minimize Programs Which Are Running

March 9, 2009 – 11:50 am

There are many reasons why you may want to quickly minimize programs you are running. Usually, this involves an office setting where you are doing something which you should probably not be doing, and when someone comes to the room you want to hide it. While I am not condoning such behavior, I will give you some hints on how to instantly hide your desktop screen:

• The easiest way is sometimes to switch your monitor off. If a person is just passing by it might work. Of course, if your boss notices it, you might have problems explaining why you just switched your monitor off, and he might ask you to switch it back on. You might be embarrassed to show him what you have been doing. Try to avoid this method if possible.
• Another way involves pressing the Win+D keys to minimize all of the programs. If all the programs were running in windowed mode, there is no way for your boss to see what you were doing.
• My favorite method involves pressing Win+L which logs you out of windows, and if you require a password to log on to your account, nobody except you will be able to access the desktop.

Hope this helps!
