Protect Your Documents
February 20, 2010 – 9:51 amIf you are working in a network environment, the chances are that somebody unauthorized might access your computer. He might even make some changes to your documents. You might also lose some sensitive data if that happens. That is why it is important to at least try to protect some documents. When it comes to Word documents, the good news is that there is a way to protect your documents from such changes. If some changes have been already made, you will see them in a red color. To enable this feature, go to Tools->Protect Document->Protect for Tracked Changes.
While this might not protect you from hackers, it will certainly reduce the probability of unauthorized access. It is simple to do, so why not take advantage out of it? Naturally, if your documents contain very important data, there are other ways to protect them, but I am not going to cover more complicated methods in this post. If your data is very sensitive, then you should use at least a few methods to protect it.
Anyway, there have been many people using the feature described above, for various reasons. I hope that you will be able to benefit from what I have shared with you today.
