Make Your Computer Quiet

April 30, 2009 – 12:47 pm

Every computer is noisy to some extend. If you spend a lot of time in front of your computer, eventually you might start being tired. Fortunately, there are some things that you can do to reduce the noise of your computer. Since the majority of noise comes from the fans, then this means that making the fans as quiet as possibly would be our priority. Generally, the bigger the fan the less noise you will hear from your PC. That is because a bigger fan does not need to rotate that fast in order to provide the same cooling as a small fan would have to provide. Another thing you can do to reduce the noise is to check what type of fan you have. Those with fluid or sleeve bearings will greatly reduce the noise your PC produces. Beware of one thing though. Unlike fans with ball bearings, there will be no indication that sleeve bearing fans are about to stop working as they are not as loud. Keep that in mind.
If your computer makes loud sounds which is not related to your fan, check if everything is alright with all other components such as HDD. Very often, a loud sound coming from your computer will inform you that there is something wrong with it that needs to be repaired. If you do not know how to do it yourself, do not hesitate to contact an expert.
