Hide Your Internet Browsing History

March 10, 2009 – 3:12 pm

Every time you serf on the web the sites that you visit are being stored by your PC. Even though these are only temporary files, you might not want the others to see them for some reasons, especially if somebody else is using the same computer as you. Normally, those temporary files are stored in on C drive in windows folder, but you can change their location to a more suitable one. To do it, follow these steps:
1. First, open your Internet Explorer and go to Tools from the upper menu bar.
2. Select Internet Options from the Tools menu. A window will pop up.
3. Go to General tab and the Settings button which is located under Temporary Internet Files.
4. Click here on Move Folder and select the new location of your temporary files. It can be a different drive.
5. Restart you PC for changes to take place.
If you are sharing your computer with someone else in your household, this is a good way to protect your privacy. Of course, it is not completely possible to erase every trace of what you have done, as the best solution is to simply have your own PC or notebook. In cases that is not possible, I hope the above advice will be useful to you.
