We use emails on a daily basis, so it is important to have some rules pertaining to sending and checking your email. Here is some information on how to use your email in a smart way:

• While at work, try to avoid sending personal messages from your company computer account where you work. The information you sent might be visible to your boss and you should first verify whether your company allows using your email box for this purpose.
• Before you send an email check in what emotional state you are. Are you angry? Disappointed? If yes, then this might influence the content of your message. Remember that sending an email is irreversible. If you are angry because one of your co-workers just irritated you, wait a few minutes before you write an email to your customer. After all, you don’t want to later regret sending an angry email message.
• While replying to an email that was sent to a large number of people use “Reply All” option so that everyone can see your response. This will save you a lot of time and will ensure that everyone will be able to read what you wrote. Just make sure that the recipients actually want to receive your email.
