Download from Trusted Sources
July 30, 2009 – 9:17 amIf you have been careful during your history lessons at school, you probably remember the story about the Trojan Horse. Trojan Horse, which was a horse made of wood, was elevated during the Trojan War and was a trap in which a select force of men hid. It was an innocently looking horse at the first glance, however, this horse was very dangerous. When it comes to malware, the analogy to the Trojan Horse is quite accurate. Very often, on the Internet, you will come across programs that might look useful and quite harmless, but that is often not the case. It is only after downloading them that you will realize your mistake. Instead of downloading a regular program, your computer might get infected with malware that can cause a lot of damage to your computer and operating system. It is better to be aware of the dangers of downloads from not trusted sources, and proceed with caution anytime you want to download any of them. It might also be a good idea to ask somebody if the file you are downloading can be trusted or not. You will find many places on the Internet, like forums and discussions groups, where people are willing to share with others their experiences they had with many different downloads. If a specific file had a virus, people are very likely to complain about it somewhere on the Internet.
