A Few Ways to Dial Your Internet Connection
November 8, 2008 – 10:26 amIt seems a little bit obsolete nowadays, but you will be surprised how many people still dial their internet connection. There are at least a few ways to do it. Here they are:
• If you already have a shortcut to your internet connection on your desktop, use it to connect to the Internet. It will be erased if you format your hard drive, so make sure you know how to make such a shortcut.
• The most known method is to click the Start button, then Settings, then Network, from where the dial up option will appear.
• The third option will not require you to even use a mouse, but just by pressing an appropriate combination of buttons you will be connected to your Internet. To do this, right click on your Internet connection and go to Properties. Click on the Shortcut box and choose the combination that you wish, after which press OK. Next time you need to dial your Internet connection just use the combination of buttons that you have just entered. I really like this feature and this is my recommendation, as it relatively easy to set-up and very convenient.
Whenever you use dial-up, you should be aware that you are going to be charged per hour, and if you like to surf the Internet many hours in a row, it might be a better choice to actually invest in a broadband connection.
